Mechanical Engineer – Structural Integrity Specialist #1698
Location: Houston – West Side
Salary: 120-185k, plus 10% profit share.
Our client is a global Engineering Consulting firm with a niche market in providing reliability and integrity support to major oil & gas companies. Their engineers provide strategic and systematic support that enable upstream and midstream producers to establish and maintain high level of reliability and asset integrity in a variety of operating conditions. In addition to providing overall asset management and reliability excellence, they also provide high levels of specific technical expertise in areas that affect the reliability and integrity of upstream assets. The engineers in the Structural Integrity group work at both the design and operational phases of an asset, performing a specialist engineering troubleshooting role as well as preventative risk based screening of piping and structures. This is primarily a technical role with particular emphasis on site measurement and troubleshooting services.
Responsibilities
- Pipework vibration and stress measurement surveys;
- Machinery troubleshooting and vibration investigations;
- Risk Based Pipework assessments;
- Design and installation of vibration and stress monitoring systems;
- Modal Analysis and Modal Testing;
- API 618/674 Pulsation Requirements;
- On site engineering troubleshooting/failure analysis
Requirements
- BS Engineering
- 7+ years of structural integrity/reliability experience in a chemical, refining, midstream or upstream application
- MS or PHD in Engineering would be welcomed
- Ability to travel offshore to oil platforms
- Ability to travel up to 50%
